Ojos Suaves/ Soft Eyes is an accumulation of documents and photographs taken by Mirjam Wirz, as she and musician Carlos Icaza follow Mexio City born music collector and promoter José Ortega, also known as Morelos, throughout South America in search of the origins of cumbia and the sonidero movement. The book includes photographs, transcripts of discussions with key figures and documents from their private collections.
