From the Publisher:
This booklet begins with a series of reproductions from Frank Lloyd Wright: The Houses photographed by firelight. In the dim light of the hearth the author considers an architecture of fire, a force that defined and plagued Wright’s mythology. There was the darkness of ritualistically rebuilding his home at Taliesin after increasingly tragic fires. But there was also a return to the elemental, seen in the warm yellow glow of light timber framing and wainscoting, the centrality of the hearth, the celebration of the domestic.
