Historical Note
Commonwealth and Council was founded in 2010 by Young Chung. It was first located at 202 N Commonwealth Ave, Apt D, later relocating in 2011 to 3006 W 7th St, Suite 220 in Koreatown, Los Angeles. It has represented artists since 2016 and is currently co-directed by Young Chung and Kibum Kim. The gallery's name references its original location in an apartment at the corner of N Commonwealth Ave and Council St. The collection was donated by Young Chung. [Sources: 1, 2]
